A small African braider and weave shop in Atlanta is coming to life.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports the shop will be named The African Braider & Waver Shop.
Owner Dwayne Dukes said it’s been a year since the store first opened in January, and he hopes to see a resurgence in interest in the art form.
“The people who come to the shop to have their hair done and have their clothes washed have never seen a braider before,” Dukes told the business news outlet.
“We’re trying to educate people about braiding.
They’re going to love it.”
The store is also planning to offer braiding classes in addition to other activities.
Dukes hopes to have the shop open for classes in the fall.
It’s not yet known how much the shop is costing to open.
