Travis Scott is no stranger to releasing his music on the back of his signature bass drum machine.
The Austin-based artist announced on Twitter last month that he was working on his fourth album, and today he shared the official audio from the project.
“Sober,” as the album is being dubbed, is the first in a planned eight-album project that Scott says he hopes to finish in the next year.
The project is the latest chapter in Scott’s ongoing story as an artist who, while working on projects such as his first solo album, “No More Parties in LA,” is now working on music for artists such as Lady Gaga, Kanye West, and the Foo Fighters.
“I feel like I’m a bit of a celebrity in my own right,” Scott told Rolling Stone recently.
“It’s just really gratifying to have people pay attention to what I’m doing.
I don’t think it’s the biggest thing I do, but it’s what I do.”
Scott’s next album is due out September 5 via Relapse Records.
He said he hopes the album will also offer an opportunity for him to “start working on the next record.”
